SHEDS FOR LIFE ? is the Irish Men?s Sheds Association?s flagship
programme dedicated to building and maintaining the health and
wellbeing of men in the community. The aim of the programme is to
support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of the men?s sheds
members.? Sheds for Life allows the direct provision of
evidence-based health services at grassroots community level in the
familiar and non-clinical environment of the shed that effectively
engages shed members. Sheds for Life is supported by the HSE and
Sl?intecare.
JOB TITLE: Health and Wellbeing Manager
REPORTS TO: CEO
LOCATION: Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin **Apply on the

according to public health guidelines and recommendation?s
CONTRACT: Fulltime permanent
PROBATION PERIOD: 6 months

WORKING HOURS/ARRANGEMENTS: 9am ? 5pm Monday to Friday
PENSION: Option to join PRSA scheme after 6 months
SALARY: This is a HSE funded position Grade VI
POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and will have
a leadership and management role in the day-to-day operations of the
health and wellbeing function across the Irish Men?s Sheds
Association.
The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development,
implementation, partnership building and evaluation of the IMSA?s
evolving Sheds for Life programme and Malehealth.ie online platform.?
The successful candidate will be a creative and persuasive
communicator with a strong focus on forging and maintaining
sustainable partnerships with a wide range of partner organisations
including representing IMSA in high profile public arenas in line with
the ethos and values of men?s sheds.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the operation management of the organisations Health and
Wellbeing Department and its programmes, Sheds for Life and
malehealth.ie to deliver our operational and strategic plans
* ?Manage and maintain cooperative relationships and networks with
the key health and wellbeing partners and funders in relation to the
Sheds for Life programme
* Project manage the Health & Wellbeing budget, grant applications
and reporting requirements to the HSE and Sl?intecare
* Manage and support to the IMSA?s health & wellbeing team
* Develop internal SOP relating to health and wellbeing programmes
and partners
* Responsible for setting and maintaining quality control standards
for all wellbeing programme
* Work closely with the IMSA?s researcher in the evaluation of the
Sheds for Life programme
* Apply a logical and pragmatic approach to workload, delivering the
best possible results with the resources available
* Represent the IMSA at HSE, Sl?intecare and other relevant
external meetings and forums as required
* Coordinate and facilitate the Sheds for Life Advisory Group
comprising of leading men?s health experts and academic partners
* Be aware of national policies and developments under men?s
health and support these actions through the work of the IMSA
* Participate as a member of the wider IMSA team in team meetings
and other fora.
* Carry out other duties upon request by the organisation in
fulfilment of the IMSA?s vision, mission and strategic priorities
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for this position should be able to provide evidence of
meeting the following requirements for the role:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* Third level qualification in field of health promotion, public
health, community health or health management or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years management experience in a health promotion,
public health, community health setting or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years? experience of management, support and
supervision of staff
* Full drivers? licence and access to a car for travel. This role
will involve some travel.?
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
* Strong planning and organising skills including structuring and
organising own workload and that of others effectively
* Proven ability in developing and maintaining collaborative working
relationships with a variety of individuals and organisations,
particularly within the NGO and health services sector
* Working knowledge and understanding of the charity/non-government
organisation sector
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
communicate and work with a range of audiences from a variety of
backgrounds.
* Efficiency, good work rate and proven ability to deliver on
objectives & deadlines
* Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office skills and using
CRM Databases
* Energetic, creative and proactive approach, with a strong work
ethic
* Highly organised and excellent attention to detail in all aspects
of work
* A working knowledge of national key health policies, strategies
and plans impacting men?s health
* An understanding of the WHO CompHP Core Competency Framework for
Health Promotion
* Experience of working directly with men?s group desirable but
not essential
